Mindmap

For Task 1 of pre production I created a mind map on Mind mup 2. Mind maps are useful for planning projects when you have lots of different ideas, they give you a chance to organise and section your related ideas in one place. For mine, I split it up into 5 sections highlighting the most important parts of the project: format of video, audio, location, editing and camera set up.

Under format, I put the ideas for what type of video I wanted and if it would be formal or informal. I had my location set in stone before beginning the mind map, although i considered adding an outside location as an idea, I soon realised that the lighting would be too much and would ruin the video, so I kept the idea I had in mind. For the audio, I decided on using the H4n recorder as I had reviewed and researched 3 different recorders available and the H4n had the best properties for the audio I needed. I wrote the different steps that would be important like making sure the volume is consistent and that I ad an overlay of background music too. Looking back, the points about overlaying could've fit better underneath the editing section.

The camera set up and editing sections had the least information as they were both straightforward and didn't require much extra information, I could've added what tripod I was going to use and how tall I was going to have it, and what camera angles would be used most. For the editing section I could've added what software I would be using, how long the video will be approximately and if I would add any effects or overlay photos.

The reason my mind map lacks in certain areas is because the ideas I executed in the project where thought of AFTER i created the mind map. The things mentioned that I could've added where all put into my storyboard after I came up with them.
